Jared Brady and Aaron Schuerr are teaming up to instruct a first-class painting workshop in Normandy, France, April 25 – May 3, 2027.  With two expert instructors, students will get plenty of feedback and one-on-one guidance while painting landscapes. The workshop is for oil painters and pastel artists, and we will provide some materials as a chance to try the other media. The workshop is also suitable for acrylic painters. Normandy is famous for its remarkable landscapes, notable history, and delicious butter!  

Your accommodations for this workshop are beyond exceptional. The Château, built in the late 1700s, was responsible for glassmaking on the estate. Then, it became a hotel until Workshops in France rented it when it first became available for private parties. It is a perfect art workshop location. Of course, we bring our own Chef, Linda, as she has been feeding artists with exceptional food for dozens of our workshops. Our guests have told us that we need to let everybody know how wonderful our chef is and the incredible food she makes for the artists. We would be amiss not to mention it here.

From the Château, we will travel to several nearby locations for not only painting experiences but also to places that connect us to history and the spirit of the artists who have come before us. During this workshop, we will visit Auvers-sur-Oise,  the final home of Vincent van Gogh to stand where he stood and paint where he painted. We will also go to Rouen, where Claude Monet painted its cathedral around 40 times. We have also come to love the nearby “Secret Garden” built by the Post-Impressionist artist, Henri le Sidaner, who discovered the area on a recommendation from Rodin. There, we will paint in one of his several gardens, including a white garden, a yellow garden, a blue garden, and a lovers’ garden. The village itself defies description, unless you were saying it was the inspiration for Beauty and the Beast, with its half-timbered houses, and flowers spilling off the vines and blooming around corners to delight us all with color and scents.
