Guest Info

Workshop retreats are a wonderful opportunity to paint with fellow artists while spending 10 days in the idyllic South of France; all the while enjoying the natural beauty and bounty of Provence. We carefully selected a beautiful château above the hillside village of Châteauneuf de Gadagne for your stay. Read our guest reviews and find answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

Wonderful guests from countries and continents across the world have joined the workshop retreat experience including painters, photographers, writers, sculptors and glass artists. Workshops are also suitable for non-painting partners and spouses.

This year, we will take a day to paint and explore St. Remy and Les Baux, following in Van Gogh’s footsteps as we stand in the same place as he painted. We’ll also explore other venues such as Carrières de Lumières,  Les Baux with a state-of-the-art audio-visual exhibit featuring the paintings of Chagall, “Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Each day has a new destination to sketch and paint – allowing you to take your time discovering the area and its people. You’ll visit local markets, breathtaking private vineyards and hilltop villages that are off-the-beaten track. We ensure painting locations all have access to our vehicles, materials and cafés, so you’ll never go hungry and nothing ever gets left behind.

If you prefer sitting at outdoor cafes people watching and enjoying the charm of the area, you’re in luck. Bring your camera so you can capture the inspiring surroundings and paint the sights later.

After dining at the château, we take up various painting related topics for discussion and demos.

The castle’s history is ancient, with its beginnings in the 600s. While keeping it’s historic touch, it has received modern ammenities and now boasts two swimming pools and wi-fi. The château sits on the edge of a plateau atop the village with views for miles to Ventoux mountain in the distance.

Dinners, ground transportation and accommodations are included. Price is based on double-occupancy. Single rooms are available. Discounts are available for spouses or partners (painting or non-painting). Airfare is not included.
